Teng Biao thumb Teng Biao () (born 3 August 1973 ) is a human rights activist and lawyer in China. Teng is a lecturer at the University of Politics and Law in Beijing. He has been a vocal supporter of human rights activists such as Chen Guangcheng and Hu Jia.〔Taylor, J. 2006, ('China's most famous dissident still in limbo' ), ''AM'', 5 August. Retrieved on 9 March 2008.〕 He has been arrested at least twice, in March 2008〔 and in February 2011.〔 He is currently a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School. ==Human rights activities== Teng Biao is one of the founders of the Open Constitution Initiative in 2003. In 2006 he was counsel for the blind civil rights activist Chen Guangcheng, who was sentenced to four years and three months in prison.
